The Pulaski County Jail was opened in November 1989. Before that it was on the top three floors of the Court House. We house county, state, and federal inmates. The jail services all law enforcement agencies in Pulaski County. This includes Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, Somerset Police Department, Burnside Police Department, Science Hill Police Department, Eubank Police Department, Ferguson Police Department and the Kentucky State Police. The Pulaski County Jail consists of two buildings. The main jail which houses the majority of our inmates and another building that houses the inmates for our work program. Some of the services that we provide are county road cleanup, county garage maintenanace, county park maintenance, county animal shelter, trash pickup crews for the Solid Waste Board, and crews to some of the other city, county and state agencies in our county.
