G.R.E.A.T. Program

We are active with the G.R.E.A.T. Program(Gang Resistance Education and Training) here at the Pulaski County Jail. It enlightens kids and their parents about the dangers that face children as they grow up in our community. We are teaching in several schools now and we also sponsor an annual G.R.E.A.T. Camp. It's been a very productive program for us, it's a good way to get out into the community and educate kids and their parents about gangs and drugs. We want to reach as many young people as possible with this program. It's a very important program for our community. The program is designed to help young people make better decisions, and it helps parents understand how important family relationships are in forming a healthy environment for their children.

Anyone interested in more information on The G.R.E.A.T. Program should contact Sgt. Cox at the Pulaski County Detention Center (606-678-4315).

The Pulaski Co. Jail wants to thank all the people (past and present) who make the G.R.E.A.T. Program what it is. If it were not for volunteers with a real interest in the welfare of this community this program or this camp would not be possible. Again the Jailer and the staff of the Pulaski Co. Jail want to say "thank you" to all who help make this program such a success.
